The economic situation of the City Council is delicate and requires us to be responsible and restrained. The Economic Report prepared by the Department of Economic Intervention highlights important points to reverse: the budget result, the treasury balance, the net savings and in the context of public procurement, the REXC files (Services provided by the council without previous contract) all key indicators to measure the economic health of a town hall like that of Sant Feliu.

The reality is that in all of them it is suspended or approved by the hair. Therefore, meeting these obligations is an exercise in political responsibility. What invites us to think that if the new government inherits a high-risk situation like the current one, it is not due to chance or mere bad luck, but because there was a bad management of the outgoing team, especially in its last year of mandate. This is a budgetary mortgage that requires us to take urgent measures in this regard, such as an overexertion in economic and human resources to provide core services until the end of the year, most of them in the area of ?Services to the People?. We also have the ordinances approved in the last plenary session and the need to propose an affordable and realistic budget for next year, which must be approved in the December plenary session.

Talking about the economy is not always easy or pleasant. The numbers tend to be cold until they turn red and scares and rushes come. The town hall's piggy bank (remaining treasury) is practically empty, which means that there has been structural spending with short-term money, or what comes out as BAD MANAGEMENT OF PUBLIC RESOURCES. Increasing debt and borrowing is also not an option to explore at the moment. This bad practice has to be reversed and it would be unfair to citizens if it was only done through taxation. The solution is to generate income through the collection of resources and investments for Sant Feliu. Soon, an area of economic development that prioritizes these actions must be promoted.

In these pressing moments, it is important to teach about why it is necessary to have a healthy town hall and economic indicators in an optimal situation, in the same way that economic reports and budgets must be presented to the public. This is our responsibility as a government, yes, but our priority is because the bad management of the previous government does not affect the population, without cutting municipal services or programs, improving their management and working hard to attract investments and business dynamism to the capital of Baix Llobregat.
