Traffic cuts on the Rambla Marquesa de Castellbell Friday 27 October

During the morning of Friday 27 October, a series of horizontal and vertical signaling tasks will be carried out in the area of the Rambla de Marquesa de Castellbell, which will entail the following impacts on mobility:

  • From 9.15 a.m. to 10 a.m., traffic will be closed in the downward direction of the Rambla Marquesa de Castellbell, in the section located between the Sànson road and the Riera de la Salut (a the height of the municipal cemetery).
  • From 10 a.m. to 10.45 a.m., traffic will be closed in the direction of the Rambla Marquesa de Castellbell, in the section located between the Sànson road and the Riera de la Salut (on the 'height of the municipal cemetery). To guarantee the passage of bus lines SF1 and L51, during this affectation the opposite direction of traffic will be enabled, maintaining the cut in the direction of descent.
  • From 11.30 a.m. to 2.30 p.m., the section of Rambla Marquesa de Castellbell located between Santiago Rusiñol and Girona streets will be closed to traffic. Vehicles will have to detour through Carrer de Josep Ricart. Also during this time slot, alternating traffic will be managed at the intersection of the Rambla with the Riera de la Salut, with staff equipped with signaling elements, to guarantee the installation of various elements on the public road.

As for public transport, the urban bus line SF2 and interurban L51 will be affected. Specifically:

  • SF2: The section that runs along the Rambla Marquesa de Castellbell and Carrer de Joan Fuster, as well as the three existing stops on this route, will be diverted. The new provisional itinerary will include the passage along the Sànson road, the Teixidores street and the Riera de la Salut.
  • L51: The section that runs along the Rambla Marquesa de Castellbell and Carrer de Girona and Marquès de Monistrol, as well as the four existing stops on this route, will be diverted. The new provisional route will include passing General Manso and Clementina Arderiu streets, until the usual route resumes.

Promoting more sustainable transport

The horizontal and vertical signaling tasks in the Rambla area of Marquesa de Castellbell are linked to the contract for the implementation of pedalable itineraries , which will culminate in the implementation of a cycle path approximately 1,200 meters, and which will go from the Sànson road to the Montejurra avenue. These works are part of the set of subsidized actions within the framework of the European Next Generation fund, which aim, among others, to 'foster a modal shift in urban and metropolitan environments towards more sustainable transport, prioritizing collective public transport and active mobility'. The new route will make it possible to give continuity to other urban actions already executed previously and/or planned, which complete the implementation of a main pedalable network for bicycles and other personal mobility vehicles, both at urban and metropolitan level.
