Talent Sant Feliu is back, the youth entrepreneurship promotion program

Palau Falguera Auditorium hosted the presentation of Talent Sant Feliu 2024 on Wednesday, January 17, the second edition of the program that promotes entrepreneurial culture among young secondary school students from the city. The communicator and illusionist Jordi Nexus acted as master of ceremonies for an event promoted by the City Council through the program Sant Feliu Innova, and which was attended by, among others, from representatives of the participating mentor companies.

Mayor Lourdes Borrell gave the institutional welcome highlighting the potential of Sant Feliu's youth, an 'entrepreneurial, committed and active group, with the perfect context to realize their innovative ideas and achieve a better city'. The two winners of the last edition and creators of the Happyschools project, Alba Munuera and Carla Ruiz, also wanted to intervene in the event to encourage those attending to participate in what they consider to have been 'a unique experience'. At the end, it was the turn of the entrepreneur Mohamed El Amrani, who shared his personal experience and the keys to his success in the business world, inspiring the students with stories of perseverance and innovation.

Undertake as practice, the key to success

The Talent Sant Feliu program is presented as an opportunity to enhance the talent of the boys and girls of the municipality, helping them to work on their ideas, instilling in them business concepts, and guiding them towards the creation of their own business project. Although the program is conceived as a competition, its main objective is not the competition but the awareness of the youth about their abilities, and the importance of valuing their initiative. During the approximately 4-month duration of the program, the participants will work not only on their business idea, but also on the development of soft skills such as teamwork, communication, empathy and recognition of their own talents and those of others.

The Talent program will begin with a motivational talk by an entrepreneur, detailing the rules of the competition. The pairs of interested students will be able to present their projects, and among all the participants, the 10 best teams from Sant Feliu will be selected. Each of these teams will have an assigned mentor, who will help them develop their business plan, with the support of the City Council's technical services. The Talent Sant Feliu jury will choose the most outstanding projects, determining the winners of the third, second and first prize. These include different business experiences such as the following:

  • 3rd prize: Entrepreneur Experience Day, with a program of visits to the main places in the business and entrepreneurial ecosystem in Barcelona.
  • 2nd prize: 3-day trip to a European capital, with a program of visits to the main institutions and organizations related to entrepreneurship and innovation at European level.
  • 1st prize: 5-day trip to Silicon Valley (San Francisco - USA), with an exclusive program of visits to the most representative companies in the innovative sectors. The trip includes the participation of members of the winning team and the school teacher.
